Alert Policy Dialog

You can use the Alert Policy dialog to create alert policies.

The Alert Policy section contains the following fields:

Name

Specifies the name for the alert policy.

Limits: Alert policy names can contain up to 80 characters; valid characters are a-z, A-Z, 0-9, underscore (_), and hyphen (-). Alert policy names with embedded spaces must be enclosed in single quotes. Alert policy names cannot include any of the following: #, $, %, *, ., ?, or @.

Job Name

Specifies a job or group of jobs with which to associate the policy. Only those alerts whose job names match the job name pattern will be monitored.

Default: *

Note: You can use an asterisk (*) or a percentage sign (%) as a wildcard character to represent multiple characters, or use a question mark (?) as a wildcard character to represent any single character.

Box Name

Specifies a box job or group of box jobs with which to associate the policy. Only those alerts for jobs whose box job names match the box job name pattern will be monitored.

Default: *

Alarm Type

Specifies one or more CA Workload Automation AE alarm types to include in the policy.

Status

Specifies one or more alert states to include, such as OPEN, ACKNOWLEDGED, or CLOSED.

Default: OPEN,ACKNOWLEDGED

Active

Indicates the policy will be applied.

Default: Selected

Server

(Optional) Specifies the name of the CA Workload Automation AE server or servers to which to monitor global job alerts. If this attribute is specified, the alerts are displayed in the Alerts table for the specified server.

Job Status

Specifies a job status with which to associate the alert policy.

The Alert section contains the following fields:

Severity

Specifies the severity level for the alert, such as CRITICAL, HIGH, MEDIUM, or LOW.

Default: LOW

Text

(Optional) Specifies a description for the alert policy.

URL Name

(Optional) Specifies the display name of the link to content related to the alert.

URL Link

(Optional) Indicates the URL at which content related to the alert resides.

This dialog contains the following buttons:

Save

Saves your settings and creates the alert policy.

Close

Discards your settings and closes the dialog.
