Delete a System Environment Variable

If you do not want a specific system environment variable, you can delete it.

Follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, Programs, CA, Workload Automation AE, Administrator.

    The Instance - CA Workload Automation AE Administrator window opens.

  2. Select the instance in which you want to delete a system environment variable from the Instance drop-down list in the Settings pane.
  3. Click the Services icon on the toolbar.

    The Services - CA Workload Automation AE Administrator window appears, displaying a list of services installed on the selected instance.

  4. Right-click the scheduler and select Stop. Repeat this action for the application server.

    The scheduler and application server stop.

  5. Click the System icon on the toolbar.

    The System - CA Workload Automation AE Administrator window appears.

  6. Double-click the system environment variable to delete in the Environment Variables pane.

    The window refreshes to display the name of the selected variable in the Variable field and its value in the Value field.

  7. Click Delete.

    The window refreshes and the variable name and its value are no longer displayed.

  8. Click the Services icon on the toolbar.

    The Services - CA Workload Automation AE Administrator window appears, displaying a list of services installed on the selected instance.

  9. Right-click the scheduler and select Start. Repeat this action for the application server.

    The scheduler and application server start. The system environment variable is deleted from the selected instance.
