You may want to perform the following tasks to get started with the CA Virtual Assurance user interface:
You must define VMware vCenter, HMC/IVM, and Solaris Zones servers to manage, discover, and provision virtual resources on these platforms. You can also define other settings such as a Help Desk server, reporting server, and SNMP settings.
Note: You may have already defined this information during installation. Check the Administration tab to verify that all necessary information exists.
Users must belong to a user group to access the user interface. You assign permissions to user groups to control what information and tasks the users in the group can access.
You can create customized Dashboard views to display the information that you want to see when you open the interface.
You must discover physical and virtual resources to begin managing them with CA Virtual Assurance.
Configure metric collection to control the exact metrics that agents collect for each server, platform, or virtual resource.
