VMware vCenter Server lets you manage your VMware ESX hosts, datacenters, clusters, vSwitches, and virtual machines. The vCenter Server is the central location from which you can view all virtual resources and perform management operations such as cloning, snapshots, power, and so on.
This section describes the management operations that you can perform on VMware vCenter Server resources from the Resources page. The Resources page lets you view basic information and details about the following objects:
Click Resources, open the Explore pane, and select one of the VMware resources; then click Summary for the resource.
The Summary page lets you view information associated with that object (for example, virtual disks on a virtual machine, or virtual machines on a vCenter Server) and events associated with the resource.
The Details page lets you view other detailed resource information, such as system properties, software, hardware, performance, and so on.
Right-click menus on the Explore pane also let you perform management and policy tasks.
