VMware vSphere supplies an environment for running virtual machines, and for associating these virtual machines together into pseudo-applications, called vApps. A vApp is a specialized Resource Pool, and shares some characteristics with virtual machines. For example, a vApp can be powered on, powered off, cloned, and so on.
A vApp is represented at the host or cluster level.
