Modifying the CA DRAS Control Statements
Control statements are stored in a configuration file allocated using the DRASCFG DD statement and read at initialization.
Generally, these statements can be divided into groups based on their functions, as follows:
- Statements that supply initialization values to CA DRAS.
- Statements that define repositories to CA DRAS and supply their physical attributes.
- Statements that control logging and diagnostics.
- Statements that start internal processes.
As part of its initialization, CA DRAS reads the user-supplied configuration file, which does the following:
- Defines the repositories that CA DRAS accesses.
- Selects the language for data translation.
- Specifies the number of parallel threads used for processing queries.
- Specifies various logging options.
- Issues any of a special set of commands reserved for starting and stopping internal processes, such as agents.
Note: Once the product has initialized, commands can be issued from the operator's console to temporarily override some of the configuration information while the task or job remains active.
For more information about the available commands, see the chapter "Operating CA DRAS."
