Reason:
A DEV record has the wrong syntax. Shared Tape Allocation Manager (STAM) initialization aborts. If the VMTAPE CONFIG file specifies STAM AUTO, CA VM:Tape initialization also fails.
Action:
Ask the CA VM:Tape system administrator to find the DEV record with the incorrect syntax and correct it. The chapter on the STAM facility in the Administration Guide describes the DEV record. When the problem is corrected, start STAM again and, if necessary, start CA VM:Tape again.
