Reason:
A DEV record in the STAM parameter file continued onto a second record, but the syntax of the second record was incorrect. The continued DEV record must be blank in columns 1 through 15. Shared Tape Allocation Manager (STAM) initialization aborts. If the VMTAPE CONFIG file specifies STAM AUTO, CA VM:Tape initialization also fails.
Action:
Ask the CA VM:Tape system administrator to correct the syntax of the second record. When the problem is corrected, start STAM again and, if necessary, start CA VM:Tape again.
