When you use the CATALOG, LIST, or MOUNT command, CA VM:Tape checks whether you are authorized to work with the tape you specify on the command. The following figure shows how CA VM:Tape checks for authorization.
CA VM:Tape also checks for authorization when you use the EDIT command. However, it checks for the first three types of authorization only; it does not check for authority through CA VM:Secure rules.
