Controlling Access to Your Tapes With CA VM:Secure

If CA VM:Tape is set up to interface with CA VM:Secure and the CA VM:Secure Rules Facility is installed and running at your site, you can control access to your tapes through CA VM:Secure rules.

You can set up CA VM:Secure rules for the CA VM:Tape CATALOG, LIST, and MOUNT commands. If conflicts arise, CA VM:Tape security overrides CA VM:Secure security. For example, users with ANYTAPE authorization can mount any tape in the library, even if a CA VM:Secure rule exists that disallows mounts of a particular tape.
