Use the PERM option to specify that the tape is permanently saved. If you want to expire a PERM tape, use the CATALOG command to set an expiration date.
[Authorization: NOMAXRET]
If your system administrator has set a maximum retention period for your site, you need NOMAXRET authorization to use this option.
