Using the Autopick facility or reserving drives when the HSC interface is configured could affect the performance of the ACS by increasing the time needed to perform mount and allocate requests.

• When the Autopick facility is configured with the HSC interface, CA VM:Tape selects the scratch tape to mount and then drives the mount to the tape’s location, even if the tape is outside the ACS.
• When you reserve a tape drive and the HSC interface is configured, CA VM:Tape moves the reserved drive to the beginning of the EDL, regardless of the drive’s proximity to the tape.
