An ARM product is synchronized to CA VM:Tape when its volumes reflect the same scratch status as in the TMC. The process of synchronization involves changing the scratch status of volumes found in an ARM unit to correspond to the CA VM:Tape scratch status.
Synchronization occurs as part of the mount process and with the SCRATCH and REFRESH commands.
