When CA VM:Tape is interfaced with CA VM:Backup, CA VM:Backup sends mount requests for restore and backup functions to CA VM:Tape. This allows CA VM:Tape to manage the scratch and saved volumes, tape drive allocation, and keep audit information about the tape mounts.
All currently supported releases of CA VM:Tape and CA VM:Backup support the CA VM:Tape interface to CA VM:Backup.
