The CA VM:Tape service virtual machine can be run in XA, ESA, or XC mode.
Note: CA VM:Tape does not automatically reset the 370 Accommodation feature if a user exit changes the setting during execution; therefore, if you use CA VM:Tape user exits, it is up to you to set and reset the mode properly.
End users communicating with CA VM:Tape through the VMTAPE MODULE can run in XA, ESA, or XC mode with the 370 Accommodation feature turned on or off.
