Authorization

The issuer must have DIAGPCHK authorization on a GRANT record in the AUTHORIZ CONFIG file. In addition, the issuing user ID should have an IUCV DUALPASS record in its directory entry. This entry allows the validation to occur even if the Rules Facility is temporarily down. You can also optionally use the VALIDATE rule to further control the use of Diagnose X'A0' subcode X'04' for password validation. This can allow you, for instance, to limit a requester to use this subcode against a particular group of users.
