If you remove this record before going through the PEF uninstall procedure, your passwords remain encrypted.
Also, note that if you specify the DES3 operand, you should also specify the DES3KEY statement in the file if you want to define the encryption key to be used. If no DES3KEY statement is found, an internal product key will be used to encrypt passwords with the triple DES algorithm.

Important! The ENCRYPT record is added to the VMXRPI CONFIG file during installation of the PEF. Do not use an ENCRYPT record unless you plan to complete the installation of PEF.
