The DES3KEY record lets you specify triple DES encryption keys to use or a user exit to allow for your own encryption key management.
DES3KEY records have the following basic syntax:
DES3KEY word1 word2 word3 word4 word5 word6
Valid characters for a key are 0 through 9, and A through F. Letters must be in upper case.
The encryption key used by triple DES password encryption is defined by installation personnel when the VMXCPG utility is run.
Important! It is critical that, when triple DES encryption has been installed, the same key must be specified again, every time that VMXCPG is run. You execute VMXCPG if you go to a new release of VM, or if CA provides updates to the ACI exit code in the CA VM:Secure product.
There are two forms of the DES3KEY record syntax, as described in the following sections.
