AVAILCHK Record

The AVAILCHK record specifies the wait intervals used by the AVAILCHK facility.

AVAILCHK count1 [count2]
count1

Specifies the number of 30–second intervals that the CP component waits before it disables logon rules for the service virtual machine after it stops responding. This value must be between 0 and 255. A count of 0 indicates that there is to be no delay before bypassing the logon rules. If the AVAILCHK record is not included, count1 defaults to 4 (two minutes).

[count2]

Specifies the number of 30–second intervals to wait between warnings that the Rules Facility is not running. This value must be between 0 and 255, and should be lower than count1. A count of 2 gives a warning every minute until count1 is reached. A value of 0 disables this message entirely. The default value for count2 is 2 (one minute).

With count2, the operator receives a message stating that the Rules Facility is not initialized or that the program is not responding.
