Description

Without the CA VM:Secure interface, the CA VM:Tape LIST command can be issued by users only for tapes that they own or by users with ANYUSER authorization in the VMTAPE CONFIG file.

With the CA VM:Secure interface, users granted access by a VMTAPE LIST rule can list other users’ tapes. If the rule allowing the LIST request specifies the LOGPASS option, the requesting user IDs must give their logon password when listing the tapes. If the rule allowing the LIST request specifies the NOPASS option, the requesting user ID is not required to give a password.

Users with ANYUSER authorization can continue to list tapes regardless of rules. CA VM:Tape LIST requests default to normal CA VM:Tape processing if no rules are defined to govern CA VM:Tape LIST attempts. The NORULE record in the SECURITY CONFIG file does not apply to CA VM:Tape requests.
