Description

With the VMSCHED SCHEDULE rule, you can establish one or several worker machines on which CA VM:Schedule jobs can be scheduled. Also, you can keep CA VM:Schedule jobs from being scheduled on special user IDs.

Use the DAY dayname and TIME hhmm hhmm options to encourage or prevent use of a certain virtual machine during the specified times. These options control when jobs can be scheduled. They do not affect CA VM:Schedule scheduling options.

All CA VM:Schedule SCHEDULE requests default to normal CA VM:Schedule processing if no rules are defined to govern CA VM:Schedule SCHEDULE attempts. The NORULE record in the SECURITY CONFIG file does not apply to CA VM:Schedule SCHEDULE requests.

Examples

• The following rules in your rules file allow only members of your security group MYGROUP to schedule jobs for your virtual machine:

• Only users MOE and LARRY are allowed to schedule jobs on the CURLY user ID because the following rules are present in the CURLY rules file:

  ACCEPT LARRY VMSCHED SCHEDULE *
  REJECT * VMSCHED SCHEDULE *
  

• The following rules in the MAINT rules file restrict all users except SYSPROG1 from scheduling jobs on the MAINT virtual machine. SYSPROG1 can schedule jobs only on Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.:
