LOCAL Command Prefix

Use LOCAL as a prefix to another command to direct that the CA VM:Director product server on the local node execute the command.

Specifies the command string to execute on the product server running on the local member node in an SSI complex.

Description

The LOCAL command prefix is used in a Single System Image environment to direct that certain member specific commands run on the local product server. In an SSI environment, commands issued using the product command MODULE (usually VMDIRECT MODULE or VMDIRECT MODULE) execute on the Master product server.

Use the LOCAL command prefix to retrieve audit data from a specific member product server by logging on to that member with an authorized user ID, and issuing the following command:

VMDIRECT LOCAL AUDITEXT

Use the LOCAL command prefix to convert an Agent server into the Master server during an outage by issuing the following command:

VMDIRECT LOCAL TAKEOVER
