Removing Several Directory Entries at the Same Time

You can remove several directory entries at the same time using a control file and the MULTIPLE command. You may even want to use the same control file to remove directory entries that you used to put them on hold previously.

Note: Though the control file is the same for removing directory entries as for putting them on hold, the command is different.

To remove multiple directory entries, enter the MULTIPLE REMOVE command with the CMS file name and file type of the control file. For example, to remove the entries in the control file USERS, filetype FILE, enter the following command:

vmdirect multiple remove users file
