To prepare your environment for this migration, perform the product installation steps described in the chapter “Installing Product Materials.” After completing the procedure in this section, continue to deploy the new CA VM:Director release by following the steps in Deploying the Product for an Upgrade.
Important! We recommend that you backup your existing environment before proceeding.
Before proceeding, you must understand the concepts and procedures documented in the CA Mainframe VM Product Manager Reference Guide. When the steps in this section are complete, your AIM installed CA VM:Director release will be converted to use the CA Mainframe VM Product Manager for server startup processing and server administration tasks, similar to the installation done by the CA Mainframe VM Product Manager.
