Requests to restore SFS data must specify how CA VM:Backup should handle existing data in the target entity. You can specify any of the options listed below through the Perform User Functions screens or the OPTIONS records in TPI job template and exception files. The options are listed as you would specify them on the OPTIONS records.
For jobs restoring file spaces, CA VM:Backup erases all files and directories in the file space.
For jobs restoring directories, CA VM:Backup erases all files in the selected directory and deletes authorizations to the selected directory.
For jobs restoring files to a directory or restoring an entire directory, CA VM:Backup replaces an existing file of the same name with the file being restored.
For jobs restoring files to a directory or restoring an entire directory, CA VM:Backup restores only those files that do not already exist in the directory.
