The way CA VM:Backup backs up data from file pools is similar to the way it backs up CMS minidisks. Instead of identifying the DASD volumes to back up, the job template file specifies the names of the file pools from which to back up data, and specific file spaces or directories to back up.
An associated exception file can specify that CA VM:Backup process only certain files or entire file spaces or directories differently from others included in the job. An associated exclusion file can exclude specific file spaces or directories from processing.
