Backing Up CMS Minidisks

CA VM:Backup backs up all CMS-formatted minidisks, including those formatted at 800-byte blocks and those with:

• Files created with numeric filemodes (0 to 9)
• Variable-length files in which the longest line is shorter than the logical record length (LRECL)
• Files with filenames, filetypes, or both containing any special symbols or alphanumeric characters (except imbedded blanks)

Note: CA VM:Backup backs up files with fileids that contain characters other than those reserved for CMS fileids. However, if you or an application program has changed CMS to allow for other characters, CA VM:Backup may not be able to display those characters on CA VM:Backup screens.
