MPC jobs copy specified files from old tapes to new output tapes in order to consolidate tape storage. Only authorized clients, such as CA VM:Archiver, can submit MPC jobs. The CA VM:Backup system administrator cannot submit MPC jobs for CA VM:Backup backup tapes. MPC jobs can be created only using TPI.
