EXCLUDE Record

Use the EXCLUDE record to exclude certain parts of domains specified on the preceding EXCEPT record from being restored. You can exclude:

You cannot use this record to exclude BFS files from a restore.

A file can include multiple EXCLUDE records. Multiple EXCLUDE records that specify the same parameter can follow one EXCEPT record, but not multiple EXCLUDE records that specify different parameters. EXCLUDE records that specify extents for CKD or FBA can follow the EXCEPT record in any order.

Either EXCLUDE or INCLUDE records can follow one EXCEPT record, but not both.

Definitions

CKD begcyl begtrk endcyl endtrk

Specifies the numbers of the first and last cylinders and tracks of the minidisk extent the job should not restore. This parameter may follow an EXCEPT USERID, ACCOUNT, or ACIGROUP record.

FBA begin end

Specifies the numbers of the first and last blocks of the minidisk extent the job should not restore. This parameter can follow an EXCEPT USERID, ACCOUNT, or ACIGROUP record.

FILE filename filetype

Specifies a CMS or SFS file the job should not restore. You can use pattern matching. Enter * for filename to exclude all files of the specified filetype from processing; enter * for filetype to exclude all files with the specified filename from processing. This parameter can follow an EXCEPT USERID, ACCOUNT, ACIGROUP, or DIRECTORY.
