CA VM:Secure and CA VM:Director

Notes: Unless otherwise instructed, read all references in this section to CA VM:Secure as CA VM:Secure or CA VM:Director.

You cannot use CA VM:Backup to back up all CA VM:Secure minidisks. This section describes the special backup processing required and lists the utilities you must use in addition to CA VM:Backup.

Use CA VM:Backup to back up these CA VM:Secure minidisks without quiescing them:

The CA VM:Secure 1B3 minidisk is an IPLDISK that is not accessed by CMS. You must specify a physical backup format for this minidisk in the CA VM:Backup exception file used to back up CA VM:Secure.

Select the QUIESCE option in the CA VM:Backup exception file to back up these CA VM:Secure minidisks:

When the backup is run, CA VM:Backup checks to see if the quiesce user exit (VMBEXIT2) exists. If you choose to define this user exit, code the exit to issue a return code of 4 to allow CA VM:Backup to use the CP SMSG facility to quiesce the CA VM:Secure minidisks listed above. If the VMBEXIT2 user exit does not exist, CA VM:Backup uses the CP SMSG facility to ask CA VM:Secure to quiesce these minidisks.

Note: For more information about VMBEXIT2, see Quiesce (VMBEXIT2) User Exit.

To back up the CA VM:Secure 1B0 (DRCT) directory database minidisk, use the CA VM:Secure utilities VMXBKP01, VMXBKP02, and VMXBKP03.

Note: For more information about using these utilities, see the CA VM:Secure Reference Guide.

To backup the CA VM:Secure 1D0 (AUDT) audit database minidisk, use the AUDITEXT command. Refer to the CA VM:Secure Reference Guide for information about using this command.
