Configure the Report Recipient

CA provides a utility that you can use to configure UC Monitor as the report recipient. The utility, QMSConfig.exe, is installed in the following directory on the management server computer:

<install path>\ca\VoIPMonitor\bin

During configuration, the utility reads from Active Directory to find the front-end servers or QoE monitoring servers. The utility then accesses the QMS components on each server and modifies the External Consumer URL to identify UC Monitor as the report recipient.

The utility configures parameters for the export of quality metrics using the WMI MSFT_SIPQMSExternalConsumer singleton class.

Tip: The utility does not provide a way to undo the changes it makes. Make a note of existing External Consumer URL settings on the front-end and QoE monitoring servers before running the utility. If necessary, you can revert to these settings.

Follow these steps:

  1. Copy the utility to the QoE monitoring server or front-end server.
  2. Double-click QMSConfig.exe.

The Collector Configuration Utility window opens.

  3. Complete the following fields:
  4. Click Retrieve Servers.

The Servers or Pools pane displays a list of servers that are eligible to be configured as collection devices.

  5. Select the QoE monitoring server or front-end server to be the collection device.
  6. Click Continue.

The Current configuration and New configuration panes appear in the window.

  7. Complete the following fields:
  8. Click Save Settings.

The settings are sent to the Microsoft server. When the configuration is successful, data is sent to the management console for display in reports. In addition, the name of the collection device appears in the Collection Device List.
