About CATLMS Objects

CA Vantage GMI maintains several CATLMS objects. These objects can be used to manage, monitor, and report on CATLMS tape information stored in your z/OS system.

The following objects are available:

Volumes: Displays the most important items of information stored in the CATLMS Volume Master File (VMF) about tape volumes.
Files: Displays information about the files that reside on tape volumes.
Summary by Expire Date: Displays summary of tapes grouped by expiration date.
Summary by Used MB Range: Displays summary of tapes grouped by used MB range.
Summary by DSN Group: Displays summary of tapes grouped by data set name.
Summary by Last Used Job: Displays summary of tapes grouped by last used job.
Summary by SMS MC: Displays summary of tapes grouped by the SMS Management Class field.
Summary by Box/Cabinet (Slot): Displays summary of tapes grouped by box/cabinet (slot) ID.
Summary by Retention Location: Displays summary of tapes grouped by retention location.
Summary by Location: Displays summary of tapes grouped by location.
Summary by User Defined/Updated Field: Displays summary of tapes grouped by user defined/updated field.
