CA SRM Components
CA SRM is comprised of the following essential components:
- Application Server—A manager server that controls data collection, and schedules the activities of all CA SRM Open Systems components, regardless of where they reside.
- Windows Client—The user interface that facilitates access to CA SRM objects and functions. This component is automatically installed when you install the Application Server. It can also be installed separately on additional machines to manage one or several Application servers.
- ActivityMonitor—A Windows graphical user interface (GUI) utility that monitors the execution of CA SRM services on Open Systems (accessed from the Open Systems menu in the Windows Client).
- CA SRM Database—The embedded database that contains storage information collected from all networked objects monitored by CA SRM.
- Managed Server—Any computer managed by CA SRM.
- Proxy Collector—A managed server that collects data from another managed device.
- Agent—A platform-specific CA SRM software component that is installed and executed on the Application Server or a managed computer. Not all managed servers or applications require an agent.
- Runtime Services—CA SRM services, such as Automate, File Groups, Procedures, Query, and TSM Message Scanner.
