Import Failed for Pre-defined Reports

When you install a new or upgraded version of CA SRM, certain situations such as incorrect Business Objects credentials or insufficient memory could cause a failure to import the BIAR file. If you encounter this situation, you need to manually import the BIAR file.

To manually import the BIAR file

1. Click Start, All Programs, BusinessObjects <release>, BusinessObjects Enterprise, Import Wizard.

   Note: <release> indicates installed version of [assign the value for boe in your book].

   Import wizard welcome screen opens.

2. Click Next.

   The Source Environment dialog opens.

   

3. Click the Source drop-down arrow and select the source Business Intelligence Archive Resource (BIAR) File from which you are going to import the report.

   Note: In this example we are using the BIAR file as the source.

4. Click the ... button to open the search dialog, navigate to, and select the BIAR file, and then click Next.

   The Destination Environment dialog opens.

5. Complete the CMS Name, User Name, and Passwords fields for the destination computer.
6. Select the authentication mode by selecting from drop-down menu and then click Next.

   The Select Objects to Import dialog opens.

   

   

7. Select the import options you want to use, and then click Next.

   The Import Scenario dialog opens.

8. Select the appropriate import scenario and click Next.

   The Incremental Import dialog opens.

9. Select the overwrite options as necessary for your situation and click Next.

   The Users and Groups dialog opens.

   

10. Select the applicable Groups and Users, and then click Next.

    The Folders and Objects dialog opens.

11. Navigate and select the respective folders to import, and then click Next.

    The Import options for universes and connections dialog open.

12. Select the following option:

    Import the universes and connections that the selected Web Intelligence and Desktop Intelligence documents use directly. In the next dialog box, you can select additional universes that are not used by any imported document

    Click Next.

    The Universe Folder and Universes dialog opens.

13. Select the CA SRM central database universe and then click Next.

    The Import Options for Publications dialog opens.

14. Select the following option:

    Import recipients used by selected publications

    Click Next.

    The Ready to import dialog opens.

15. Verify the information, and then click Finish.

    The import process completes.

Note: You might encounter a Universe Connection Error when you open a report after manual import. Refer the Login Error-Report to resolve this problem.
