Syntax

FILTER=c,

Description

This parameter specifies which filter code the file is printed with; the filter code is used as the print command in the LPR/LPD protocol.

Note the following:

The following filter codes are defined, but not supported by all LPD implementations: c, d, f, g, k, l, n, o, p, r, t, and v.
Filter values can be written in both uppercase and lowercase, but they are changed to lowercase before use.
The default for line data files is 'f'; the default for PRMODE=PAGE and FCB=ASIS files is 'l.'

If c, d, g, n, t, or v is used, no EBCDIC to ASCII translation takes place.

Note: For PRMODE=PAGE and FCB=ASIS files, the filter code 'l' is always used no matter what filter code is specified.
