APD currently only offers the selection of printer node attributes (for example, device type) based on the name of the destination. This might limit its effectiveness in environments that do not enforce naming standards that can be used to deduce information about the printer type. In such environments, the APD exit can be used to obtain information about which attributes to set from some external information repository.
