The Advanced tab of the Authentication Scheme Dialog for a X.509 Client Certificate and Basic scheme contains the following:
This field contains the name of the Policy Server library used to process the authentication scheme.
The default authentication library value is smauthcert. This field contains the name of the library that the Policy Server needs to redirect user credentials over an SSL connection and verify the client’s certificate.
Note: Typically, you do not need to edit this field.
This field displays the string created from your entries in the Scheme Setup tab. This string is the parameter that the Policy Server processes using the Authentication Library specified in the Scheme Setup tab. The Parameter consists of the Server and Target from the Scheme Setup tab, with the addition of the ?cert+basic string, which indicates the use of client certificate and basic authentication.
This check box is disabled by default for X.509 Client Certificate schemes. You cannot use this scheme to authenticate Policy Server administrators.
Note: You must set up Certificate Mapping for this authentication scheme. Certificate Mapping links certificate information to a user entry in a directory.
