Authentication Scheme Dialog

Authentication schemes determine the credentials and method required by the Policy Server to establish the identity of a user.

The contents of the Authentication Scheme Dialog change when you select a scheme from the Authentication Scheme Type drop-down list. The area below the Scheme Common Setup group box contains two tabs for each type of scheme. The Scheme Setup tab includes fields for information that you must supply in order for the scheme to function properly. The Advanced tab usually contains one or more read-only fields that display information that will be used to resolve authentication. The advanced tab also contains a check box that indicates whether or not an authentication scheme may be used to authenticate an Administrator.

Note: Only schemes that require a user name and password can be used to authenticate an administrator.

To configure an authentication scheme object, in the Policy Server User Interface, use the Authentication Scheme Dialog. Once you configure a scheme, you can assign it to realms using the SiteMinder Realms Dialog.
