Authentication Scheme Dialog—Basic over SSLTemplate—Advanced Tab

The Advanced tab of the Authentication Scheme Dialog for a Basic over SSL scheme contains the following:

Library

Contains the name of the library used to process the authentication scheme.

The default authentication library value is smauthcert. This field contains the name of the library the Policy Server needs in order to process Basic over SSL authentication.

Note: Typically, you do not need to edit this field.

Parameter

Displays the string created from your entries in the Scheme Setup tab, which will be processed by the authentication library you entered in the Authentication Library field. The parameter consists of the Server and Target values you entered, with the addition of the ?basic string, which indicates the use of Basic user name and password authentication.

Enable this scheme for SiteMinder Administrators

This check box is disabled. Basic over SSL cannot be used to authenticate a Policy Server Administrator. The Policy Server communicates directly with a user directory or the Policy Store to authenticate an administrator, so SSL communication is not applicable.
