Configure an Encrypted Parameter

Configuring an encrypted value is similar to editing a plain parameter. The encrypted parameter, however, requires additional security steps.

To configure an encrypted parameter

  1. Follow the instructions for Edit a Plain Parameter, with these exceptions:
  2. In the Edit Parameter Dialog, select the Encrypted radio button.
  3. In the Parameter Name field, enter a new or modified name for the parameter.
  4. In the Encrypted Value field, enter the value that you want encrypted. It will be encrypted automatically. Re-enter this value in the Confirm encrypted value field.
  5. Click OK.
