Configure a Response Group

Once you create more than one response, you can combine the responses in a single response group.

Note: When you create or modify a Policy Server object in the Policy Server User Interface, use ASCII characters. Object creation or modification with non-ASCII characters is not supported.

To configure a response group

  1. Log into the Policy Server User Interface.
  2. From the menu bar of the SiteMinder Administration window, select View, Response Groups.

The Policy Server User Interface places a check mark in the View menu to the left of the menu selection and Response Groups appear in the System tab of the SiteMinder Administration window.

Note: If there is already a check next to Response Groups in the View menu, selecting the option again will remove Response Groups from the System tab.

  3. If You have the Manage System and Domain Objects privilege:
    1. In the Object pane, click on the Domains tab.
    2. Select the policy domain to which you want to add a response group.
  4. If you have the Manage Domain Objects privilege:

In the Object Pane, select the policy domain to which you want to add a response group.

  5. From the menu bar, select Edit, <domain name>, Create Response Group.

The SiteMinder Response Group dialog opens.

  6. In the Name field, enter the name of the new response group.
  7. Optionally, in the Description field, enter a brief description in the new response group.
  8. In the Agent Type group box, select one of the following radio buttons:
    SiteMinder

Indicates the response group passes information to a SiteMinder Agent.

    RADIUS

Indicates the response group passes information to a RADIUS Agent.

  9. If you selected the SiteMinder radio button, select a SiteMinder Agent type from the drop-down list in the Agent Type group box.

Your choices include Web Agent or Affiliate Agent. Select the Agent type to which the response group must pass information.

  10. If you selected the RADIUS radio button, select a RADIUS Agent type from the drop-down list in the Agent Type group box.

Your choices include a list of RADIUS vendors, as well as an option for Generic RADIUS. Select the Agent type to which the response group must pass information.

  11. Click Apply to save your changes.

You can now add responses to your response group. See the next section for details about adding responses.
