Test a Certificate Mapping

Once you configure a certificate mapping, you can test the mapping using the Test button located in the Mapping group box of the Certificate Mapping dialog. This opens the Certificate Map Test dialog which displays the search string that the Policy Server will use to map client certificates to user directory attributes.

To test a certificate mapping

  1. Navigate to the Certificate Mappings Dialog.
  2. In the Mapping group box, click the Test button.

The Certificate Map Test dialog opens.

  3. From the Directory drop-down list, select a user directory connection.

The user directory connections available in the drop-down list include all existing directory connections of the type you selected in the Map from IssuerDN in Certificate to Directory Type group box of the Certificate Mapping dialog.

The contents of the Directory Information group box change based on the type of user directory connection you are testing. For WinNT, ODBC and OCI user directory connections, the group box displays the Directory Type you are testing. For LDAP directory connections, the group box displays the Directory Type, as well as the Lookup Start and Lookup End values used to locate a user’s DN within the LDAP directory.

When you select a user directory connection, the Certificate Map Test dialog displays information about the certificate mapping.

  4. Click OK to close the Certificate Map Test dialog.
