Configure Administrator Identity and Authentication Details
You can use the Policy Server User Interface to configure the identity of the administrator.
Note: When you create or modify a Policy Server object in the Policy Server User Interface, use ASCII characters. Object creation or modification with non-ASCII characters is not supported.
To configure an administrator
- Using the Policy Server User Interface, create or open an existing administrator object for editing in the Administrator Properties dialog.
- Provide a Name and, optionally, a Description of the administrator.
- In the Administrator Lookup group box, specify whether the administrator is to authenticate against the SiteMinder Database (policy store) or against an External Directory.
- Provide details specific to the administrator’s lookup method:
- If the administrator is to authenticate against the SiteMinder Database, provide a Password for that user and then Confirm that password in the Password Group box.
- If the administrator is to authenticate against an External Directory, select user directory and authentication scheme in the Authenticate group box.
- Proceed to configure the scope of the administrator’s privileges to manage system and/or domain objects and the specific tasks that they can perform.
