Flush a Realm from the Resource Cache

SiteMinder caches realm information when users access protected resources. This allows SiteMinder to improve network performance by keeping track of recently used resources. However, if you make a change to the security requirements or contents of a realm, you may want to flush the realm from the SiteMinder resource cache.

Note: If you have the Manage System and Domain Objects administrative privilege, you can flush all realms from the resource cache using the Cache Management dialog (see the Policy Server Management guide).

To flush a single realm from the resource cache

  1. Login to the SiteMinder Administration User Interface.
  2. If you have the Manage System and Domain Objects privilege:
    1. In the Object pane, click on the Domains tab.
    2. Expand the policy domain that contains the realm you want to flush from the resource cache by clicking on the + symbol to the left of the policy domain icon.
  3. If you have the Manage Domain Objects privilege:

In the Object pane, expand the policy domain that contains the realm you want to flush from the resource cache by clicking on the + symbol to the left of the policy domain icon.

  4. Expand the Realm object by clicking on the + symbol to the left of the realm icon.
  5. Right click on the realm you want to flush from the resource cache.
  6. From the pop-up menu, select Flush Resources in Realm.

SiteMinder flushes the realm from the resource cache.
