Access the SiteMinder SQL Query Scheme Dialog

There are two methods for accessing the SiteMinder SQL Query Scheme dialog: from the SiteMinder Administration window and from the User Directory Dialog.

Note: When you create or modify a Policy Server object in the Policy Server User Interface, use ASCII characters. Object creation or modification with non-ASCII characters is not supported.

To access SQL Query Schemes from the SiteMinder Administration window

  1. From the menu bar of the SiteMinder Administration window, select View, SQL Query Schemes.

The Policy Server places a check mark in the View menu to the left of the menu selection and SQL Query Schemes appear in the System tab of the SiteMinder Administration window.

Note: If there is already a check next to SQL Query Schemes in the View menu, selecting the option again will remove SQL Query Schemes from the System tab.

  2. Create, edit, or delete SQL Query Schemes.

Note: If you delete an SQL Query Scheme required by an existing user directory connection, the Policy Server will not be able to authenticate users against the relational database.

  3. Restart the Policy Server using the Policy Server Management Console.

For information on the Console, see the SiteMinder Policy Server Management Guide.

To access SQL Query Schemes from the User Directory Dialog:

  1. In the SQL Query Scheme group box, select a scheme from the drop-down list and click Configure, or click New.

The SiteMinder SQL Query Scheme dialog opens. If you are editing an existing scheme, the queries listed in the dialog reflect the current settings being used by the Policy Server to access the user directory. If you are creating a new SQL Query Scheme, the queries are samples that must be replaced with queries that will function with your database.

  2. Make changes to the queries and click OK to save your changes.
  3. Restart the Policy Server using the Policy Server Management Console.

For information on the Console, see the SiteMinder Policy Server Management Guide.
