Add a Subnet Mask

You can specify a subnet mask for a policy. If you specify a subnet mask, the policy only fires for users who access the policy’s resources from the specified subnet mask.

Note: When you create or modify a Policy Server object in the Policy Server User Interface, use ASCII characters. Object creation or modification with non-ASCII characters is not supported.

To add a subnet mask to a policy

  1. In the Add an IP Address Dialog, click on the Subnet Mask radio button.

The dialog changes to display the fields associated with your selection.

  2. Enter an IP Address in the fields provided.

If you do not know the IP address, but you have a domain name for the address, you can click on the DNS Lookup button to open the DNS Lookup dialog.

Enter a fully qualified host name in the Host Name field and click OK. The DNS Lookup dialog closes and the IP address for the host name you entered appears in the SiteMinder Policy dialog.

  3. Use the Left and Right arrow buttons, or click and drag the slider bar to select a subnet mask.
  4. Click OK to save your settings and return to the Policy Dialog.

The subnet mask appears in the list of addresses in the SiteMinder Policy dialog.
