You need to create an Agent object in the Policy Server User Interface. The Agent object creates an Agent identity by assigning the Agent a name. The identity establishes a mapping between the name and the IP address of the web server instance hosting a Web Agent. Additionally, the Policy Server uses the Agent identity to associate policies with the correct Web Agent.
An Agent identity is associated with its configuration by specifying the Agent name in a local Agent configuration file or Agent Configuration Object.
Note: When you create or modify a Policy Server object in the Policy Server User Interface, use ASCII characters. Object creation or modification with non-ASCII characters is not supported.
To create an agent object to establish a web agent identity
The SiteMinder Agent dialog opens.
You cannot create one agent named MyAgent and another named myagent.
Note: The value in the Name field must match the name entered in the DefaultAgentName or AgentName parameter in the Agent Configuration Object or Agent configuration file.
When you create realms, you will associate each realm with an Agent defined here.
