Create an Agent Object to Establish a Web Agent Identity

You need to create an Agent object in the Policy Server User Interface. The Agent object creates an Agent identity by assigning the Agent a name. The identity establishes a mapping between the name and the IP address of the web server instance hosting a Web Agent. Additionally, the Policy Server uses the Agent identity to associate policies with the correct Web Agent.

An Agent identity is associated with its configuration by specifying the Agent name in a local Agent configuration file or Agent Configuration Object.

Note: When you create or modify a Policy Server object in the Policy Server User Interface, use ASCII characters. Object creation or modification with non-ASCII characters is not supported.
