Orphaned Sessions

CA SiteMinder® sessions are maintained in memory for the length of time specified by the Max Session Timeout setting of the CA SiteMinder® Policy Server. When the CA SiteMinder® session times out, the foreign session is orphaned (it is disassociated from any CA SiteMinder® session, although it is tracked).

If a CA SiteMinder® session presents a different value for the foreign session with which it had been associated, and if the new foreign session is valid, the old foreign session are also orphaned.

By default, any orphaned foreign sessions cannot be reused for a period of 24 hours. Change this interval according to your needs if necessary.
