Change the Port Number of the Default IIS 6.0 Web Site
We recommend changing the port number of the default IIS 6.0 web site.
To change the port number for the default IIS 6.0 web site
- Open the IIS Manager.
- Expand the web server, and then expand Web Sites.
A list of web sites appears.
- Right-click the default web site (at the top of the list), and select Properties.
The Properties dialog appears.
- Click the Web Site tab.
- In the TCP port field, enter the number of an available port that you want to use, and then click OK.
The Properties dialog closes and the changes are saved.
- Start the default web site.
- Verify the change by opening a browser window access a web page on the new port.
The port number for the default IIS 6.0 web site is changed.
