Compliance with FIPS-140

The Secure Proxy Server has been updated so that it operates in a way that is compliant with the FIPS-140 requirements. SPS is also capable of operating in a non-FIPS mode that is compatible with clients using earlier versions of the Secure Proxy Server.

The SPS provides the following three modes of FIPS suppport:

• COMPAT — Specifies that SPS operation uses algorithms that are not compliant with the FIPS-140 standard.
• MIGRATE — Specifies that both FIPS-compliant algoritms and algorithms used in earlier version of the SPS are supporte while migration is taking place.
• ONLY — Specifies that only algorithms approved for use by the FIPS-140 standard are used or accepted by the SPS.
